Get to Know Justin Albers

As the oldest of five boys, leadership is in my DNA. My career journey has been unorthodox -- at least on paper -- but I think it happened the way it did for a reason. I wouldn't be the versatile communicator I am today if it wasn't for the skills I developed as a journalist, at a Naval base, and in the corporate world.  My career has spanned diverse industries – from sports media to a Naval base to the corporate world at Toyota Material Handling – each providing invaluable skills that have shaped me into a versatile and well-rounded communications expert.

I'm a tireless worker with a history of building strong relationships, especially with C-Suite executives. At Toyota, I became a trusted advisor, contributing to strategy and leading messaging for high-stakes projects. For the last four years I led the company's PR strategy and execution, with great success. When I took over PR, our company record for "earned impressions" was 390,000. Under my leadership, we grew that to 741,000 in 2021; 1.3M in 2022; 1.54M in 2023; and 3.1M in 2024.  I also handled all executive level communications for the core seven executives, as well as top executives at several of our sister companies. I managed all messaging strategy for critical events, like our annual dealer meetings, and also contributed significantly to the execution. 

I thrive in a positive TEAM environment, and I promise you that I will stop at nothing to ensure I deliver my very best work on a daily basis. I am kind of a nerd, and I truly love learning. I have been able to enter completely new industries and hit the ground running because I am naturally curious, and spend as much time as necessary studying the industry from many angles until I feel I understand it. To me, it is impossible to be a good communicator if you don't first have an understanding of what it is you're communicating. I'm adept at taking complex topics and turning them into compelling messaging that everyone can understand -- but that is only possible because I study the topic (whether it's engineering, or battery technology, or accounting, sales, etc.) until I understand it. I am also a believe in "kaizen", or continuous improvement, and I write in my accountability journal daily with the things that went well each day, and the areas in which I can improve the next day. I do this is both my personal and professional life to ensure that I'm self aware, and that I'm always growing in a variety of areas. 

Lastly, I am a fiercely loyal person. If you give me a chance, I will never forget it. If we're on a team together, I will go to battle for you every single day, even if it makes things harder for me or is to my own detriment. Thanks for taking the time to read this.
